The EBU has made its decision!! Move aside United Kingdom and make room for Scotland!! Earlier this week the EBU decided that if Scotland wants to take part in ESC it has every right to - and so it should!! Hopefully if Scotland succeds perhaps Northern Ireland and my home country Wales will follow suit!
There are two views to this: 1. Scotland is its OWN COUNTRY and so has a right to participate (like Kosovo for example) 2. Scotland is still a part of the UK and it is as if the EBU is giving the UK two participants
Is it fair that Scotland can take part when Kosovo cannot because Russia, Serbia & Greece do not recognize that Kosovo is an independent state?
I don't know much about the situation in Kosovo but I think Scotland has the right to go ahead and participate on it's own, it's great news! The more the merrier! :D I think it would be pointless for Northern Ireland to go through though, we already have Ireland and the north is TINY! wouldn't be worth it! Good luck to Wales though if they wish to do so!

Of course Scotland can participate independantly because they have their own government and should be an independant state but the thing with Kosovo is that it is not an independant state because it's against the law for them to be. There are laws they have to follow to be independant and they're aren't being followed so.....
So scotland officialy are entering seperately next year?
At the moment it is unknown and they probably will not enter 2009 (becasue BBC has confirmed Britain taking part) but if a Scot channel wants to do it in future they can - its up to Scotland!
