Jade was born and brought up in Plaistow, London, to a Jamaican mother, Carol and a half British half Sicilian father, Trevor. Her father is blind and partially deaf, and her mother is partially blind. Because of her parents' disabilities, Jade has become a carer to both her parents and two younger siblings. Despite this, she managed to have dancing lessons from the age of three, and subsequently achieved a scholarship to the Sylvia Young Theatre School.

20052008: Musical beginnings
In 2005, Ewen became a member of the R&B group Trinity Stone which was signed to Sony BMG; the group had moderate success in the United Kingdom, Ireland and Russia with a few music singles. Trinity Stone also worked with American pop singer Ne-Yo for the single "Real Love", they were produced by famous names like Grammy Award-winning Brian Rawling and Cee-Lo Green.[11]. In January 2009, Ewen participated in the UK national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2009, in a format similar to the popular British talent show The X Factor. Progressing through four eliminatory rounds, she was eventually selected to represent the UK with the song "It's My Time" and was accompanied by Lloyd Webber playing on the piano on stage with her in Moscow. As well as being mentored by Lloyd Webber, Jade also had training with Arlene Phillips ahead of Eurovision. Ewen finished in 5th place with 173 points; achieving the highest placing for the United Kingdom since 2002 and highest points since 1997. Also being among the more successful UK Eurovision acts of all time overall.
On 17 February 2009, Ewen confirmed that she had signed an album deal with Polydor. It has been confirmed that Gary Barlow of Take That will write a number of tracks on Ewen's début album, which will be realeased in September.

I know, she had a hard childhood I guess. There was a show about her before the esc in the UK and it was all about Jade and Lloyd Webber only had good things to say about her.

Well the UK are very proud of Jade. We had like 0 points and last place since 2002 so it's nice to be 5th place. It's extra good because we did so bad for so many years. For example Iceland is the same. They are so proud of Yohanna over there for doing so well, she is like the princess of the country now.

OMG and you should be proud...she is so good human being and great singer....Btw Nadia look what I found
Andrew Lloyd Webber has revealed that he shed a tear after making home visit to Eurovision hopeful Jade Ewens home.
Jade acts as carer to her dad Trevor, who is blind, and mum Carol, who is partially blind and deaf. She worked hard to achieve a scholarship to stage school so she could follow her dreams whilst also helping to care for her two brothers.
Lord Lloyd-Webber told The Sun: I didnt realise just where Jade had come from and what a difficult life shed had. I admit I got rather emotional. It does make you thankful for all you have.
Jade said: My parents disabilities gave me a lot of drive.
Just read ths last sentances...OMG...I really cna't belive..I'm so angry now..because someone there was eating when he was little and even chocolate and someone was starving to help to the family and that person find to be arrongant and mean and this girl after all that happend in her life so positiv and good...I mean I'm really angry now....If I saw that person live I can't control myself......This girl is really hero...ESC really help to her...And she worked with someone from Take That for her album...I mean I'm so gald for her...JADE MAYBE THIS DOESN'T MEAN NOTHING BUT I REALLY ADMIRE YOU AND I WISH YOU ALL THE BEST...She is really clear soul...Btw did you notice her acedent with the mic when the violinist hit her a litttle in 01:19??..Poor thing...Nadia thanks for share this with me...I really admire her like a person..she is so similar like our Dimka....So good and sweet like him....I have one message stop being mean and arrogant and selfish...let the exemple of this brave young girl help you to become a better persons....Today I learnt a big lesson....

to be honest borce, i wasn't so fond of this song. her voice is great, but the song d´feels too musical for me. especially the title "my time". but congratz for the 5th place!
for me the moral winner was either yohanna or arash & aysel :)) their songs were the best of all!
The girl who toched the hearts to everyone in Europe...I will not send more pictures and videos because I don't want to provocate at all...Guys you can write on youtube and on google Jade Ewen and there you will find things for her...she is a real hero like Dimka and everyone should folow her steeps...she is a great exemple of clear and good soul...I will only put my favourite performance from her promo tour...when she sings live and bless the people.....Ladys and gentalmen enjoy in Jade Ewen and It;s my time...I hope that you will like it...

I know I have been very anti-UK in the past and wanted Wales to go it alone but Jade's performance at Eurovision was amazing (even with the tiny mistake of being hit by the violin player) - not my favourite song and not enough for me to 100% support the UK but definately a UK act to be proud of :)
OMG that is Jade Ewen from ESC 2009..But wait a second with who is she here:
Hmm she is with "Sugababes".The world famous female group ..
But where is this girl:
OMG she was dumped of the group because of Jade!!!
Hmmm I knew it and like I'm always right about everything I was also right about Jade so she now is world famous... So the retard still stay a retard and Jade hmmm turn on the MTV channel on Octomber 16th and see her new video with Sugababes shoot in LA......Congratulations Jade....You GO girl!!!Oh I'm still wondering how I can be damn right about everything!!!
Here you have the song for which will be the video clip:
