UK NEWS The most famous of all Euro commentators Sir Terry Wogan has stepped down (quit) his work with Eurovision after 37 years! There are several people set to replace him the most likely being Irish comedian Graham Norton Also a new pre-selection could be a BBC version of X-Factor where basically anyone could represent the UK - as if we weren't bad enough already :P
Also in the UK a rotary system may take place. Either Wales, Scotland, England & NI will take turns to send someone to EV or the countries will fight it out to represent UK - this idea was invented to stop the Scots & Welsh from going it alone :(
+ David Cameron (leader of the British opposition party 'The Conservatives') has stated that the UK should stop going to EV altogether!!!!
I hope it's not graham norton, but i heard jonathon ross might do it?? He could be interesting, just his lisp annoys me so he'd say "eurovision thong contest" loooooooool
Breaking News! Estonia doesn't want to participate in ESC 2009!
As I read today the Estonians don't want to take part 2009 because of the war in South Ossetia, and the estonians say of course that Russia started and so on.....They said: "We want to show solidarity to the georgian citizens, and because of that we boycott the ESC, we would be very happy if other states would do the same"
(If you ask me they're just pissed off because they didn't make it into the final last year xP)
No, there was a war in Georgia, and Estonia is against everything the russians do, so they say that Russia attacked Georgia and not Georgia attacked South Ossetia....it is a long story with the baltic states if you ask me. Actually nobody does like them anyway ;P As I read on a german news site some people said it's even better when Estonia (and the baltic states in general) stay away from the ESC and the EU and everything.....
