Dmitry Koldun received a leading role in a legendary rock opera

Dmitry Koldun performed part of the protagonist in the new version of the first Russian rock opera of Alexey Rybnikov «The star and death of Hoakin Mureta».

Creators of the cult performance which in 70th years of the XX century had deafening success decided to give it a new life. Known guitarist-virtuoso Dmitry Chetvergov wrote new arrangements for rock opera. He also took part in discussion of candidatures of soloists.

The musician already co-operated with Dmitry Koldun before. Chetvergov was impressed by a voice of the singer and recommended him on the leading role in the rock opera. By the way, in the spring of this year Koldun received the offer to participate in this performance, but was forced to refuse because of the dense tour schedule.

But not so long ago there were considerable changes in Dmitry's career. The singer made a choice according to his priorities and successfully executed a part of Hoakin at studio of Theatre of A. Rybnikov. By the way, Alexander Marshal, Sergey Lazarev and many others were tried for the role of Hoakin, but the producer chose Koldun. The authors of the rock opera remained very pleased with his vocal and admitted that, finally, got the desired sound. Although there is not a lot of parties of protagonist, but all of them are difficult.

«At first I thought that it will be simple, but I had to work hard, Dmitry admitted. I liked this rock opera, it was very interesting! ». The singer said also that participation in so scale project encouraged and inspired him. Its not surprise because he since the childhood was brought up on such music and, thanks to his father, always was interested in the classics of rock. Dmitry does not plan to play the role of Khoakin on the stage, though he does not deny such possibility.

The audio-version of rock opera «The star and death of Hoakin Mureta» on disks with Dmitry Koldun's voice will be released shortly. The composer Alexey Rybnikov (the author of famous «Yunona and Avos»), wrote a song for Dmitry with which radio listeners will get acquainted before a premiere of the renewed rock opera. Presentation of the project is planned for the end of October.
